Horror in the skies as passenger dies in Singapore Airlines turbulent flight
At least one person died and multiple others were injured after their plane encountered severe turbulence on a flight from London to Singapore.
Singapore Airlines said the incident happened on Monday evening on flight SQ321, which was carrying 222 passengers and 19 crew members.
The plane was about halfway through its journey when it hit a patch of severe turbulence. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, where the injured passengers were taken to hospital.
Singapore Airlines said in a statement that it is “deeply saddened” by the incident and is providing support to the families of the deceased passenger and the injured.
The airline said it is cooperating with the authorities in India to investigate the incident.
